Most businesses already have the data they need. The hard part is getting it in front of the right people in a form they will actually use. Here is how we help clients choose.
Excel and VBA
Best when your team already lives in spreadsheets and the data is small to medium sized. With VBA automation, a monthly report that took a day by hand can be produced in minutes.
Choose it when: a few people use the report, the data comes from files, and you want zero new software.
Power BI
Best when several teams need the same numbers, data comes from multiple sources, and reports must refresh on a schedule.
Choose it when: you want shared, interactive dashboards with access control, and you already use Microsoft 365.
A custom web dashboard
Best when the dashboard is part of a product, customers will see it, or it needs features no BI tool offers, such as live sensor data or AI predictions. We build these with Python, Plotly and Dash, or with Next.js.
Choose it when: the dashboard is customer-facing or needs custom logic.
Our advice
Start with the simplest tool that answers the question. You can move from Excel to Power BI to a custom app as your needs grow, and the data work you do along the way carries over.
